Chant of Silence

When everyone seek something outside,

the treaters welcome them with lies,

There, someone asks them to take a stand,

Lavishly portraying, it isn't a helpless land.

Few mountains need to be moved,

a selfish river to be crossed,

There's a noise religiously taught,

and still they assume they aren't lost.

When the change is divine,

it should always be for good,

Remember, they'll make things vague,

by seeking fire from damp wood.

The curses and the omens they carry,

will cautiously get someone's voice,

In panic, they will scream to bury,

but chant of silence will always be a choice.

Jazba

Darr toh lagta hai ek haar kaa,
par pal bhar se usse rijha leta hu!
Kachche kachche se sapne hai kayi,
apni hi goad me sula leta hu!

baatein logo ki sun ni toh padhti hai,
par unki bhool ko bhula deta hu,
aur jab raat ko wahi baat laut ti hai,
kissi purane geet me usse daba deta hu!

paese se kehte hai chalti duniya,
kharche thode bacha leta hu,
bheed ki raahe dhundli pade toh,
Siyaahi se nayi bana leta hu!

abhi kadam thode chhote hi hai,
jazbe ko thoda bada leta hu,
jab muskaan sikurne lagti hai,
apni hi ungliyo se gudguda leta hu!

Kon hai Woh?

कोई है खड़ा दूर,
मुस्कुरराते मुखोटे में,
मुझे रिझा रहा या हस रहा मुझपर,
सवाल है वोह बस एक सवाल!

कभी घृणा में ढोंग सी हसी,
कभी अनसुलझी कुटीर मुस्कान में,  
कुछ परखता सा बेचैन है वोह!

जितना पास मैं जाऊ उसके,
उतना खीचे उससे कोई दूर,
एक ख़ामोशी के शोर में लीन सा,
सवाल है वोह बस एक सवाल!

सामने नहीं है वोह, 
बस पीछे एक आवाज़ है,
शायद वोह मेरा कल या मैं उसका आज हु!

वोह अपरिचित काल है,
या किसी लेखन के सार है,
शायद वोह मैं ही हु,
शायद मैं खुद एक सवाल हु!

कोई है खड़ा दूर,
बेमौसम बरसात में भीगता,
मुझे जला रहा या ठिठुरके कुछ मांगता, 
सवाल है वोह बस एक सवाल!

Koi hai khada door,

muskuraate mukhote mein,

mujhe rijha raha ya hass raha mujhpar,

sawaal hai woh bas ek sawaal!

Kabhi ghrana me dhhong c hasi,

kabhi unsuljhee kuteer muskaan me,

kuchh parakhta sa bechain hai woh!

Jitna paas main jau uske,

utna keeche usse koi door,

ek khamoshi k shor me leen saa,

sawaal hai woh bas ek sawaal!

Saamne nahi hai woh,

bas peechhe ek awaaz hai,

shayad woh mera kal ya main uska aaj hu!

Woh aparichit kaal hai,

Yaa kissi lekhan ka saar hai,

Shayad woh main khud hi hu,

Shayad main khud ek sawaal hu!

Koi hai khada door,

Bemausam barsaat me bheegta,

mujhe jala raha ya thithorke kuchh maangta,

sawaal hai woh bas ek sawaal!

Happy Families

Secrets they tell and rest penetrate by own,

a need they share, like flesh to bone.

Discreet colors of 'I' turns into 'We',

They accept the random,

letting the thick red blood to be free.

Chords to chaos they warmly connect,

Sometimes they sort, and rest they reject.

Of all laughter they played,

and the times when sorrows were delayed,

Happy Families were then naturally framed.

Bas itna hi hota hai!

-Inspired from a dialogue of Ship of Theseus.

In the third story, there's a scene where Navin is sad and angry that after he has done so much to help a stranger still he didn't see what he wish to see and then his grandmother consoles him saying "bas itna hi hota hai" - depicting howsoever we try to bring a change - it's doesn't seems large enough to be seen as a change as a whole.

But people shouldn't stop doing the good things they do - they must stand for their believes - may be one day their small efforts will make this world a good place to live in.

Kabhi tere dale daane ko chugne se pehle hi,

sikhaar ban jaate hai parindey!

Tere lagaye ped ko ghar banane se pehle hi,

Ped sang aag mein jhulajh jaate hai parindey!

Par yeh tera karam hai karna,

aage shayad, bas itna hi hota hai!

Kahi tere shabd hi reh jaate hai,

kabhi woh ruh ko chhu paate hai,

yahi aaj jo andekhe se ehsaas hai,

beshak kal badlaav laane ko taiyaar hai!

Tu yeh na soch ki karwahat itni,

Tu yeh na soch ki dehshat kitni,

Ratti bhar bhi mithaas laya toh,

soch kitni dabi muskaano ko jaga dega?

Yaad rakh yeh tera karam hai karna,

aage shayad, bas itna hi hota hai!

Mana bhaag dhaudh ki hai zindagi,

yeh samaaj ajab ki hai bandagi,

par bas ek janam dia hai Rab ne,

ussko bhi na sudhaarega tu?

Kabhi kabhi toh ek roti bhi,

dinno ki bhookh mitaa deti hai,

pyaasa kabhi madira nai maangta,

ek katore pani me bhi duae hoti hai!

You, Me and the monster

I gaze out of the window,

I look at the moving street,

I struggle through the passing movers,

But, I find him only in the mirror.

He, who is the ocean of innocence,

or may be trying hard to hold it long.

I try asking him the same question,

but his wits to drift them are too strong.

O Monster, what made you to come out last night?

O Monster, why did you make "You and Me" fight?

With You, O monster, I am the other side of "Me",

but with "you", my lover, I can always be "Me".

I know what takes you back, O monster.

It's tears of my beloved,

But, they are too precious to be sold,

under the deals of our tricked arguments.

No negotiations, we need in our love,

Never libidinous can be the spirit of our love,

Though they both touches you at times,

O monster, why aren't you afraid of any crime?

Bachchi hai, sachchi hai,

maasumiyat mein ghul paati hai,

Naadan hai, par shaitaan hai,

Tanha raato mein lubhaati hai!

Neel hai, kabhi-kabhi daag de jaati hai,

barsaat hai, be-mausam baras jaati hai,

Dekho toh aasaani se nazar kaha aati hai,

Dhhondle niklo toh khud-b-khud bistar pe saj jaati hai!

Chubhti hai, nochti hai,

awaaz ko majboor karti hai!
